WhatsApp has been working diligently on enhancing the user experience by adding support for chat themes. A recent feature tracker leak has given us a glimpse into what the upcoming chat theme feature might entail. Users will soon have the ability to customize their chat bubbles and background colors using preset themes or by selecting their own colors and wallpapers.
The feature tracker, WABetaInfo, revealed that WhatsApp will provide users with 10 theme presets to select from once the feature is officially launched. The new theme picker will showcase two rows of themes – the top row will display solid color backgrounds, while the bottom row will include themes inspired by landscape art, with chat bubble colors matching the background.
In addition to chat themes, WhatsApp has also been developing a username feature. This feature will enable users to initiate new conversations without having to share their phone numbers. Another security measure being implemented is a PIN protection feature that will shield users from unknown contacts after setting a unique username.
The advanced “Username PIN” feature will prompt users to set up a new PIN after choosing a personalized username. This PIN will serve as a passcode that users must share with others to initiate a conversation using their unique username. By implementing this feature, WhatsApp aims to give users greater control over who can message them, deterring spammers and unwanted contacts.
While these new features are still in development, they are expected to be released to beta testers before becoming available to the general public. The theme picker and username PIN feature are part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to enhance user privacy and customization options on the messaging platform.
WhatsApp users can look forward to an improved messaging experience with the introduction of chat themes and enhanced security features. Stay updated for further announcements regarding the rollout of these exciting new features on WhatsApp.
