Google is gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated Pixel 9 series, set to be unveiled on August 13. The upcoming lineup is expected to succeed the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro handsets, with the addition of a possible Pixel 9 Pro XL variant.
One of the exciting upgrades in the Pixel 9 series is the inclusion of an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. According to reports, the phones will be equipped with Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Gen 2 (QFS4008) sensor, which is known for its speed and accuracy. This technology is said to outperform optical sensors and can even work effectively with wet or dusty fingers.
While most models in the Pixel 9 series will feature the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is rumored to have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. Additionally, all phones in the lineup are expected to be powered by Tensor G4 SoCs and run on Android 15.
The base Pixel 9 model is rumored to come with a 6.24-inch AMOLED screen, providing crisp visuals and vibrant colors. On the other hand, the Pro and XL variants are speculated to feature larger displays, with sizes of 6.34 inches and 6.73 inches, respectively. Recent leaks have also revealed a unique pink color option for the vanilla Pixel 9, complete with a pill-shaped rear camera module.
As we await the official launch of the Google Pixel 9 series, anticipation is building around the innovative features and design elements that these phones will bring to the table. With an enhanced fingerprint scanner, powerful processors, and stunning displays, the Pixel 9 phones are poised to make a mark in the competitive smartphone market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting release!
