Disney Entertainment Television made a huge impact at San Diego Comic-Con this year with a wide range of activities and activations. ABC’s Abbott Elementary hosted A.V.A. Fest, offering attendees an entire carnival experience with games and goodies. From a swing carousel to a Philadelphia Eagles drumline performance, there was no shortage of entertainment for con-goers.
Hulu’s Animayhem Activation
Meanwhile, Hulu’s Animayhem activation returned for another year, showcasing popular series like Family Guy, American Dad, Bob’s Burgers, Grimsburg, and The Simpsons. Attendees could enjoy doughnuts and coffee courtesy of Bart Simpson himself, and even have their stress levels “detected” by a high-tech machine from Solar Opposites. The activation also offered the chance to create a dance video with Bob’s Burgers characters and watch scenes from classic episodes of Family Guy.
FX Area Activities
In addition to ABC and Hulu’s activations, con-goers could also visit the FX area showcasing hits like The Bear and American Horror Story. Aspiring chefs had the opportunity to don an apron and have their photo taken inside The Bear, a Chicago restaurant brought to life in Southern California for the weekend. American Horror Story fans could experience the Hellevator, featuring 12 moments from the series and a sneak peek at Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series Grotesquerie. Outside, attendees could snap pics at Paddy’s Pub from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or tour the vampire’s Staten Island mansion from What We Do in the Shadows. Custom sunshades were also available to help attendees beat the summer heat.
Overall, Disney Entertainment Television’s presence at San Diego Comic-Con was a major highlight of the event. From carnival games and performances to interactive experiences and photo opportunities, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The activations from ABC, Hulu, and FX brought popular shows to life in exciting and engaging ways, creating unforgettable memories for con-goers throughout the weekend.
